  1. I have a bit of footage I shot before all my drama of moving - a waltham and a Rolex. Not sure which one to edit first, but I am a bit further ahead with the Rolex vid so maybe...

  2. Well after a marathon break I am almost ready to get started again with Youtube. My latest problem has been my computer which was giving me problems. I have now had to buy a replacement, this time I have opted for a Macbook instead of a desktop Mac. I'm liking it a lot, I have put an SSD in it and maxed out the Ram and it flies like a champ. Just one problem - the screen is only 13" and it doesn't connect to my desktop monitor without a special cable. So I am waiting for a new adapter from an eBay seller. This 13" jobby is no good for video editing - everythings so tight. My desktop screen is 22" which is an improvement but I saw that 27" Mac display in the macstore and just started drooling! Will have to save for a long time for one of those! Anyway - sorry for taking so long to get back up and running - service will resume soon :D

  3. Well that's the holiday over. My good lady and me spent the last week in York and had a great time. On the Monday we visited The Red House Antiques Centre and as usual I was on the hunt for old watches. I did find a section specialising in wrist watches but as you can guess, the prices were a bit more than I wanted to pay. OK the search went on and we discovered the "Clock Room", and there he was all seven feet of him looking resplendent. It was love at first sight, and better still he was from Scotland! My wife gave me a look that equates to.............He's about to do it in public..............and I did. I got intimate with the big fella, he had such a gorgeous face and large magnificent hands. On opening his private compartment, there it was swinging to and fro, large and perfectly formed, what a bob! I just had to have him. Being a major decision in my life I pondered for a few days and then struck. The deal was quickly done and this lovely grandfather clock was mine. I even managed to pack all seven feet of it it into a standard Vectra, along with all the holiday stuff for the journey home. Here are a couple of pictures, I know it's not a wrist watch, but at least the dial looks like a chronometer!

  4. Crown wheel screw is often a left hand thread. Unscrew it as if you were tightening it. go easy on these two screws as they can shear very easily......

  5. George Daniels was a fascinating character and a master watchmaker, probably the equal of any who lived before him. R.I.P. As to your watch problem, it seems to arise from overabundance, if you only had a couple picking one would be a lot less trouble. I think most would agree that you have a very bad case of watchitis and have passed beyond, way beyond, the stage where tablets or therapy would be of any help. On the upside it probably saves you from worse things than collecting watches. :thumbsu: Enjoy your break.
