  4. That's probably the worst looking watch I have set eyes on. If they sell, it's a master class in advertising! Where's a sick smiley when you need one?

  6. I've been looking around....Ranfft puts the 5420 in the 54xx family [kinda] , and I was looking at Sweephands Citizen movement table from the 30's to the 70's... and saw 5400 movements from the 60's and early 70's listed and related . Also I saw these donors for sale on the Bay...5430 , 5440 , 5450 , and 5470... There were more donors listed but I only attached this example . Sweephand could probably tell you more about interchangeability on this movement family . I wanna see your watch running .

  7. What a great post you've presented . It's like watching a soap opera...only better . I have serviced a few Homers and 8200 calibers , but this caliber is new to me . I can suggest that you talk to Sweephand [stephen} as he has the great Vintage Citizen blog . He's a really good guy and the guru of vintage Citizens . He's always my go-to guy for Citizen questions . http://sweep-hand.org/

  8. One method which can help is once the wheels are in place & seated correctly mount the plate with it,s location screws so the plate is in the correct position & then worry the pivots in. BUT do not tighten down until absolutely certain everything is aligned.

  10. Hang on a minute! The centre sweep hand is the chronograph second hand and will have to be fitted exactly at 12 when the chronograph is zeroed. In the case of a chronostop that is when the chronograph button is released. I would run the chronograph and release the button to ensure that the hammer has zeroed the mechanism properly then press on the second hand having first aligned it exactly at the 12. The hand has to be pressed on fairly firmly, or it will move from register when operated. You will of course have to comply with Rogers setting of the hour and minute hand if it has a date function.
