Quartz movements are generally cheap and plentiful enough that if something goes wrong, I'd just replace the entire movement. You can see yours is stamped ISA369. You can buy a new one for $20. https://www.watchmaterial.com/isa-369-quartz-watch-movement/2 points

Following an auto-security-update, there may have been some issues with the site today affecting posting. Not sure how many people this affected, but I believe I have resolved the issue now. Apologies to those affected.1 point

I cant see the whole of the stamp by the number 12 bottom right, I can only see Made in, so can you tell me? A stab in the dark if it is made in England then as the barrels are detachable I would say it could be a Garrard. Is there any I D on the dial? What is the case like?1 point

Plenty but try explaining quality over substance is sometimes impossible. It says Rolex on the dial. Aaaargh. I don't have one, any other suggestions? What's wrong with a lucky lucky man? Hehe.1 point

https://www.cousinsuk.com/product/hairsprings-clock I got a box of these from Cousins. Only used 1 so far to replace a really mangled hairspring. The quality isn't great but useable in a pinch. But you will have to do minor alterations like broaching or closing the collet to fit the arbor. Then you'll need to "vibrate" the hairspring to get the correct length. And you'll need to form the endcurve. Perhaps you should get a box to get some practice on hairspring work.1 point

Somewhere out there that used to be a website made by professional watchmakers to alert customers to brands that will not sell parts to anyone Is not just a European thing nobody can get parts unless you somehow have an account with the brand which is very difficult to do and then has issues. One of the reasons I pointed out that the mainspring barrel was available off Website is that which I also pointed out it's conceivable that other material houses around the planets might have a mainspring barrel for you. Not all parts are on line you have to ask. For instance to give you a clue what the problem. Seiko it one time before they had their stuff online gave the data to the material house basically is a really big text file. So I got to write a database program and import the data. This was the casing parts and I remember scanning through the database to make sure all the data got imported properly and the rest of these thousand items in the database. Bob the owner of the material house was unhappy because each year they drop the old stuff in favor the new stuff but the watchmaker won't need the new stuff for several years. The point of me telling you this is there were 50,000 casing parts in the Seiko database this is why all the material from then until now is not on line only the most popular stuff is online typically that is why out in the universe the used to be physical material houses they still exist just have to track him down and ask them if they have the parts in your case find somebody closer to home. In a that are find a scrap watch off of eBay and hope to get good parts off of it.1 point

Hi Richard , basically the age of it and the style of the balance rim, it may well be a pin pallet but it it’s indestinct in the picture , I mentioned it because if it is it would be irreplaceable as a balance and persons capable of repairing them are at a premium not only that costly so extra care required .1 point

Eyup watch peeps, so is there anything more difficult than hairspring repairing and adjusting. I'm on my final leg of completing an AHS movement that involves pining the hairspring at the stud. This stud is part of the fixed stud arm so involves fitting the stud pin direct to the cock. I decided to do this while the cock is installed, seemed the best approach to work with something stable and solid fastened in a movement holder. The brass pin is super small and round, from books I've read a flat should filed onto the pin. This flat side then fits towards the hairspring allowing staightening of the hairspring before the pin is pushed fully home. After messing around for a few minutes and pinging the pin across the bench ( this is something you dont want to lose sight of, no magnet is going to help you find it ) . Pushing the pin into soft timber and stroking across with a 600 grit ceramic file, perfect. All that remains is to fit it . What a ridiculously small piece to work with. BTW, these files are the dog's nads, cousins price, whoa !!! Chinese seller negotiation price Thats not a single handed operation by any means, a glass of orange juice to steady a slight shake ( very noticable when doing this ) but no couldn't wait. Just a finger from the left hand to steady one of your tweezer fingers makes a huge difference, eliminates any shake completely.1 point

Bergeon used to sell a cheaper set, the BG2729. I placed an order for it in Feb. 2022 with Jules Borel but after a couple of months of it being on back order they told me that Bergeon no longer offered it:0 points
