  1. Hi everyone, Currently working on an st97. Movement has been cleaned and lubricated and appears to be running strong when balance is inserted however it will stop when the screw is fully tightened. Balance immediately kicks up again if loosened by even a quarter turn. Thought it might have something to do with cap jewels being incorrectly placed but I've checked both sides several times i don't think it's that. Balance pivots are healthy with no bend at all. I'm still quite new to fault finding and diagnosis so any help on where to start looking would be appreciated. Thanks!
  2. Hi everyone, Currently working on a bulova 11BLAC. I've cleaned and lubricated however the watch is very difficult to regulate. Upon further investigation i noticed the hairspring sits to on side. When I removed it and flipped it over to check, I noticed that the hairspring is almost bunched up to one side because of this. If this is the case, how would i go about fixing this? Never fixed a hairspring before or taken one apart so i definitely want to proceed with caution. Any help would be great, thanks!
  3. Hi all, so I have a JLC k480/cow that was running strong for a while. 270 amplitude and +/-5 seconds a day. I noticed one day losing minutes every hour, but it continued to run strong on Timegrapher. I assumed it was a loose canon pinion so i tightened it. And the watch continued to keep time well for the day. Then I go to case it to finish up and the amplitude starts to drop in all positions but dial down (even dial down amplitude now is 230-240). And I don’t know where to go. I didn’t change or adjust anything jus the canon pinion. I tried reoiling capstones it helped a lot but still not running as strong. I had to replace the escape wheel in the original service a while back. And when I went to check for parts today I noticed there are two different escape wheels listed wondering if anyone could clarify that. And further instruct me on how to resolve this issue 1109_JLC 480.pdf
  4. Hi everyone. I am new here and I have an issue with servicing my Breitling which houses a 2824-2 movement. I have stripped the watch down, which was running quite well but didnt keep the best time. All parts have been cleaned and the movement reassembled. I was careful to check the workings of the movement as I was going along so that if there were any parts out of place I would have noticed earlier. However, when placing the balance in place, it doesn't run unless I give it a nudge. I have wound the crown a good 7/8 turns so there is sufficient power. Even after nudging the balance it will run for 5 minutes sometimes or a couple of hours other times. The hairspring looks great and is not kinked at all. Please have a look at the pictures and see if i'm missing something here....Any idea what could be causing the stoppage? The pallets are fine and in position and with the balance removed it will function as it should with the escape wheel when I nudge the tail. I'm lost with this one...Maybe it's my lack of experience but i'm hoping someone here with more knowledge will be able to help... Thanks in advance guys! David
