Hi, I have an old Seiko kinetic sports which I bought in US around 15 years ago. As it was not working anymore, I changed the battery last month and just last week it stops working agin. Just noticed that when I changed that battery, this like a counter weight even if its very smooth, its not swinging continously. Does it means to swing continously while in use or just steady? Also, even if its a new battery, the battery check will only be on 5 secs. will it be ossible to know how to fix it. Im not a watch technician but a marine engineer. buyI can work on precision things. Thanks in advance

Have you fitted a common silver battery, or the correct rechargeable battery, sometime improperly called a capacitor?
A Kinetic watch would run just fine for a long time with a common battery, that is often done when unable to obtain the correct rechargeable battery, or the charging unity is faulty.
If you have fitted a rechargeable batter one would have to know what exactly was done, as having it working for a month and then stopping is a bit strange.
So let us know in regard to the question above, and is also a good idea to posti pictures of your watch, on the mov't side.

Hi JDM, Thanks for the help. I bought the battery/capacitor that I fitted from Ebay. It cost me £20. Pls find attached pictures for my watch and the battery picture from ebay

Maybe the battery came well charged but the charging unit is faulty as suggested above. One test that can be done would be testing the charging coil using a low voltage multimeter. Details can be in the technical document for the mov't but one can't even tell what it is based on the blurred picture.
