Hi! Nicola from Milano (IT)

Hey guys! This is Nicola from Milano, that smog hole in the middle of northern Italy.

 

I’m an hobbyist 30 yo “watchmaker”, I started 6 months ago when I first went to a street shop and bought some vintage watches to see out of curiosity how those tiny marvelous engineering masterpieces works.

 

I bought a bunch of tools, including a timegrapher, the infamous De Carle bible, and I started playing around.

I broke the first 2 I put my hands on. Obviously.

Shit happens when you’re a beginner and you don’t know what you’re doing..

But somehow since then I managed to dismantle and reassemble the last 3, and all I can tell is that looks like I’m totally hooked with watchmaking so far!

 

I’m now waiting for a set of Moebius oils from UK, I can’t wait to try and service one of those movements.

 

I’ve been lurking here for a couple of days, damn there are TONS of infos here. Thank you so much for putting it all together!

I hope I can learn more and more, little by little.

I was in Delhi in December. By comparison, Milano smells of sweet roses and Channel number 5.

Well we may not be the worst, worldwide. But we are in our country

I’ve been in Shanghai this summer. As you said about Delhi, the pollution is real there.
