Hi

The hands of my clock have suddenly stopped moving and I'm trying to open it up to see what's going on. After some struggle, I've finally managed to remove the hands and clock face. Now there appears to be some sort of bushing around the pinion holding down the back plate. Anyone know how to remove it?

Thanks IMG_20200121_173239.jpg

Normally its a center fixing nut with two groves to fit a key and you undo it just like a nut, Could you post a close up photo as my eye sight is not good.

I see. I don't think I've got a key for that. Maybe two flatheads? I've cropped my photo a bit here. IMG_20200121_173239_1.jpg

Hi  Vinn is spot on.  Its a quartz module and this is the standard fitting  usually I use a screw driver aka Old Hippy but its easy enough to make a key/driver to fit as per Old Hippy Photo.

Thats better. You should be able to unscrew it with a screwdriver that is a good fit.
Here is a photo of the sort of tool.
