Your watch is a 1973 Timex Marlin with Day/Date display. It features a M27 movement. It had a suggested retail price of $13.95.

Sorry for the low res screen shot, this is the only copy of a 1973 Timex catalog I could find online.

The trick is to know what  those number at the bottom if the dial mean. 27850 2773

278502 is the model number (278xx is a Timex Marlin model ) , 27 indicates the M27 movement. 73 is the year.

thanks guys, really appreciate it. this watch winded right up and starting ticking... ha
