Hello everyone, I'm new to the watch repair community. I'm trying to repair my Seiko 6t63-00g0 (got it of eBay around a year ago).

The problem is, that I'm not able to set the time because the stem/crown comes out after a date-change position. Is there any way for me to fix it (also without sending it to Seiko), with my low skills of watch repair and basic tools , and what could be the problem. Thank you in advance.

Hi And welcome to the forum.   when you say the stem comes out do you mean it comes away from the watch ?.  If so there is something amiss with the keyless work and the only way to check is to remove the movement , dial and hands and inspect the keyless work for broken or displaced parts such as the setting lever, setting lever spring and the like.  I have attached the tech sheet for your guidence should you wish to have a go yourself.

Thanks a lot. Regarding "stem comes out" yes it comes all the way out of the watch. With information that you provided I will try to fix it myself. Thanks for your help.

I don’t suppose these PDF’s are still available? The current  link no longer works.

The technical sheets are of not help to owners, they are intended for repairers.

It is possible that you watch can be repaired but that needs to be done by a competent person, if you want to try yourself take into account the possibility that it will end in a worse state. Then unfortunately most repairers do not work on quartz watches for a reason or another. You can still try contacting some, good luck.

Hi  If you are intending to have a go yourself bear in mind what jdm said regarding the fact it could end up in a worse state.  Also if attempting to repair it you will have to aquire some basic tools. But having daid all that its not an impossible job.  I have attached a document for your interest and is worth reading before you dive in. The glossary refers to mechanical watches but the keyless work is pretty much the same on a quartz as it does the same job.   best of luck
