Hi guys, I hope you are all well.

I have had a few tricky customers over the past 12 months but this one has got me beat.

The watch is  Seiko 5 Actus 6106 - 7510.

I have tried the Jaxa tool fitted correctly with the right bits. I have tried hot gluing the watch to a solid fixing and rotating it and even dare I say it, mounting it in a case clamp and giving it a tap with a small hammer and a well placed "old" flat head screwdriver but it wont move.

I have even tried lifting it very slightly and the opposite thread carefully too to see if that moves it, but no luck.

Starting to think that I might not like what I find beneath this case back :-s

Any advice appreciated ?

Cheers

Dave

Hi Try the super glue trick. Superglue a big nut to the back of the watch and leave to cure then take a spanner and undo the back.  The superglue can be removed using acetone usually works a treat

Another teick, apply some heath on the around the case, 60 or 80W solder iron.

My 5700 bench opener knock off never failed me so far, but never say never.

I think I might have to purchase one of those, any recommendations on where to source one ?

I got the cheapest one on AliX, only needed a bit of cleaning on the bits leadscrew square thingie. Make sure you get the seller to ship by Post exclusively and a reasonable declared value.
