A superb offer JD,        both a scholar and a Gentleman.   encouragement costs nothing as does a kind word.

And Nora a  If you never try anything you gain nothing . Like you a lot of years ago I changed balance staffs using a set of punches and a 36 hole stake and got good at it and glad i did it so when I use the staking tool I appreciate how good it is.  So keep raising to the challenge:thumbsu:

I have an "Automatic Balance Staff Remover" made by the M-B Tool Manufacturing Co. Sorry about the picture quality. I only have my what's only phone.

While we wait for JD's truing and poising video, we  an help you with your photo taking skills.

A smartphone camera is capable quite decent photos, as evident in your photos. The problem with the photos you sent is in the lighting. I think your photos will turn out better if you turned off the flash and use ambient light or your work light.

If you require close up shots, there are clip-on macro lenses with a ringlight to give shadowless lighting on AliX. I just got another one last week. I'll search for the link.

In the meantime, relax, enjoy and don't fret over the balance wheel. I think all of us here have screwed up worse than this. And when you get good at doing difficult stuff, it's the simple stuff that will get you.

Don't ask me how I know. :D

I would like that.

LOL I don't see it as a screw up, I'ts part of my learning style. Jump right in and see what skills I am lacking to get the job done. It's only screwed up if a professional says it's hopeless. Then it goes on the shelf for wile till I can prove them as having prejudged it's demise

When I was young someone told me "You have not lost until you give up". I often think about that when a task or situation feels daunting.

I'm not sure if this link works. AliX app changed something.

Sorry for being OT, but I just can't help myself! ;)
