I'm currently working on a Gothic Jar Proof watch from around 1920's. It is using an AS1045 movement.

I having trouble figuring out how to remove the balance jewel from the balance cock. The jewel doesn't have an anti-shock spring and doesn't have any screws on the under surface of the balance cock either.

Any help is much appreciated.

It might be a rubbed in jewel. If it was me I would uncouple the H/spring from the cock clean then lubricate the jewel with an auto oiler.

I disconnect the balance complete to get it out of harms way.

Refer to picture No2 you posted. What looks like an hour hand screwed on the cock, that either pushes on end stone to keep it in place, or end stone is fitted in it. It can be pushed to the side or if you can remove the little screw thats on it,  balance jewel under neath smiles at you.
