Let’s talk about the tourbillion movement watch’s. I find this fascinating and so visually stunning. Why aren’t they used more, since they do counter the effects of gravity better then traditional movements.

They are expensive to produce, require a thicker case to accommodate them, potentially less reliable or robust due to the additional complexity, and given that wrist watches tend to do a lot of moving around during the course of the day (at least compared to pocket watches) the degree to which they counter the effects of gravity and therefore the benefits are comparatively small.

Otherwise they are a great show piece for the watchmakers craft.
