Hey guys.

Anyone know anything about these gruen mainspring barrel set up

The arbour is attached to the barrel lid and spins .

Before i attempt to remove the arbour i thought i better check to see if that's the wrong way to go.

The problem is you cannot see when the mainspring is attached to to arbour.

And i have tried a number of times, sometimes it feels as if its caught. ( it stiffens to turn) so you start to rebuild the watch and hey and behold its not caught at all when winding.

so any thoughts. cheers

gary

I would not take that apart.

And I bet those holes are there to help you, but I've not (yet) run across this exact configuration.
