I’ve got an 18k IWC Schaffhausen that’s froze up with visible junk on the gears. I plan to disassemble and clean it to try and get it running. It will be my first attempt ever at doing this - wish me luck!

Please practise on something else of little to no value first. You are almost certain to do serious damage. The IWC is best left to a professional with the right tools.

I got it for nothing in a junk bag. I can’t even sell it for the scrap price. It just needs a good cleaning. If I damage it then I’ll just save the movement for parts and get the gold from the case - nothing lost. I’ve got some stuff to practice on. Maybe I’ll make a video of it. Thanks for the warning though.
