Hallmark Alarm Watch--an interesting find

Found this today among box-o-watches.  Appears to be in pretty good shape apart from the dial (not shown).  I will put it in the queue.

Hi there, nice find give us a look at the dial, at least it is working. They go for good coin in working condition.

Here is the dial.  Since posting, I discovered that the alarm function works fine.  However, I have not figured out how to set the alarm.  Possibly a broken component??  The movement is running briskly, so I am very optimistic.

Excellent!  Appears that there is something malfunctioning in the alarm-set feature.  Will investigate and report back!

I was looking for a tech sheets and the usual sources it doesn't seem to be available? It's the problem with a lot of the older watches they never got scanned their word enough of them or enough demand for somebody does do a tech sheet possibly.

Hmmm, removed the two case screws and brackets, movement is loose (rotates a few degrees in case) but does not come out.  Need to ponder this and be very careful.  I don't think it is a front loader.

I think it is a front loader, but the bezel has to be removed.  Geez.  Why?  Screw on or snap on?  More pondering.

Yup...snap bezel...removed.

Everything works...just have to push the "pusher" pretty hard to get it into alarm-set mode.

I have reassembled this watch.  It is running great so far.  Alarm works fine.  I have sent an email to "International Dial" to see if they have the die for this dial (or the Vulcain equivalent).  If they do, I will probably spend the money to have it refinished.  The case is in very good shape: 10K GF.

International Dial has the die for this watch.  They will refinish dial and hands for about $100.  I have ordered some crystals (sized above and below what I measured) and once I fit a crystal, I will send the dial for refinishing.  Should be exciting.

According the USPS tracking number the dial arrives at International Dial tomorrow.  Give-em a week and then it is back to me.  I will post the result.
