Dating a Credor?

I'm trying to figure out the age of this recent purchase, actually a pair.  The SN on the larger one starts with "8D" indicating for a Seiko it was made in December of a year ending in 8, but which decade?  The Credor japan web site indicates this line, the Ordinaire, was introduced around 1985.
