Hello, my name is Ben, and I am from the Philadelphia area.

I'm a complete novice and very excited to begin tinkering with watches. I have taken apart and reassembled an ETA 6498 a number of times in the last couple of weeks. I look forward to exploring further and learning from you all!

Part of my interest was stimulated by reading about the watchmaker Casper ten Boom in "The Hiding Place." I'm now enjoying "Watches Adjustment and Repair" by F.J. Camm. Do you have a favorite watchmaking/repair book that you would recommend?

Hi Ben, enjoy the forum. I am a compulsive horological book collector. These are three authors you should look for , Donald de Carle, Henry B. Fried & George Daniels. If you search on eBay there are sellers that offer CD,s with lots and lots of horological books on them.(see pic)
