Hello everybody, hope you all are well in this strange times...

I have had some time away from everything, but now I'm back and need some help...

I'm currentlyĀ  working on a Enicar AS 161 that is in a Sherpa D case.

When doing service I found a broken setting lever spring, se photo.

I have found some of this same on other movement, but always just scraped them, but is the any possibility to repair them?

Glue, shellac, solder, anybody tried that before??Ā  If this don't work out, I also need to ask, if somebody have this in stock for sale.

Enicar part no: 445

As usual, very glad to see you all, I have missed you!!

Best Regards

Armand Ekvold

Of course, anything can be repaired but the force applied to this spring is strong and recurrent so I think your best bet is to source a spare. If you want it newĀ Cousins have it in stock.

The part you have set up link to is part no:443. The part I need is part noĀ 445 andĀ that part is obsolet at Cousins,Ā  so if somebody have the part It would be great..

A common weak point in the keyless works. The design of the setting lever spring relies on the springiness of that arm but over time it suffers fatigue and snaps.

Because of that required property you can't just glue it. In theory it could be 'micro welded' but you'd have to have the right kit and, again, it would likely alter the intended springiness.

The 445 part will be the same across the movement family you're dealing with. So maybe start searching around the base 160 rather than focus on the 161. A quick look on ebay for instanceĀ and I can see you can get a whole movement from a seller in India pretty inexpensively.

If you don't find one I can send you this used one, don't know why I save all these quirky parts.

    • I have no experience with this watch, but looking at the pictures from the ebay listing linked above, it looks like the outer metal bezel at the back of the watch may not be part of the case proper.Ā  It looks like the watch and strap are sandwiched together, and an inner case may push out of the rear bezel towards the front of the watch.Ā  A case style similar to the Roamer watches where the crystal, movement and caseback pushed out through the back of an outer bezel, only in reverse - this one may push out towards the front.Ā  To test this, you would need to hold the watch, dial down, supporting the dial side of the watch around the edge of the bezel without touching the bezel itself. Then push down carefully on the inner metal ring you can see at the back of the watch. I’m speculating here, proceed at your own risk. Hopefully someone with hands on experience of these watches can chime in! Best Regards, Mark
    • Thanks, Mark. That's the kind of reassurance many of us wanted to hear! Yes, life is unfortunately unpredictable, and it would be a shame if the many dedicated WRT: ers became stranded if, god forbid, something happened to you and WRT stopped working.
    • The case back is perfectly aligned to the case and has no provisions for a screwing tool. The T-Sport series has snap on backs.
    • For me the text looks too aligned and with no obvious way to grip as a screw back.
    • There’s no indents & there’s no little groove to pry it off anywhere! So I don’t know if it’s screw down or pry off šŸ‘
