Greetings,

New member joining with a life-long connection to several clocks since my earliest childhood recollections.

The first clock to receive my attention was the family longcase 8-day clock which, to my mother's disapproval, I dismantled on the kitchen table aged 13.  I was in search of a diurnal 'clunk', found to be a broken tooth.  I fashioned a tooth and a peg from a piece of coat hanger, and glue it into place.  Still working 50 years later (just chiming as I write!).

However, I have a problem with locating a part for a Smith Astral clock, which I will detail on another post in the hope someone can help.  Thanks.

Thank you oldhippy and watchweasol for your welcomes.

Thanks also for the Barrie Smith on smiths clocks website.  One piece of information is that I have positively identified the movement as a EW156.
