Hi all!

Just finished disassembling the ETA 7001, and I think I have figured out why the balance wheel was wobbling, which I asked about previously. The incabloc lower jewel setting was not sitting exactly parallel in the main plate, causing some wobble on the axis. The balance wheel pivots were fine when I checked it after disassembling the movement.

However, the incabloc lower jewel setting not being seated properly in the main plate has caused a very serious issue: the shock spring flew out while I was trying to put it back after removing the jewel and endstones. After crawling on the floor for an hour, I managed to find the spring, but when I tried to put the shock spring back it flew off again. I think I spent more time searching for that spring than actually handling the movement. When I finally found it again, and tried to push the the incabloc lower setting slightly out to reseat the spring, both the spring and incabloc lower setting flew off, never to be found again. My knees still hurt from crawling.

According to Jules Borel, the incabloc lower setting with jewel for the eta 7001 is the same as that for the 7750. However, I found different part numbers for them at boley https://www.boley.de/en/shop/6264.shock-protection-block However, the diameter given is the same for both. Are they the same? The diameter is also given as 09,  it what units are these? The incabloc catalogue uses the same numbering, but it doesn’t seem to fit the sizes given for the incabloc Punch and stake set https://www.cousinsuk.com/product/incabloc-punch-stake-set

Which incabloc lower setting should I get. Do you think I can use a lever type watch hand press to insert the incabloc setting?

Anyone able to help? The number listing for the setting is labeled as “trou” in the incabloc catalogue. It doesn’t correspond to the incabloc punch and stake set.
