I’m at my wits end trying to figure this one out. I took the date wheel and cut it so I could see what was going on underneath. In the pic the stud does not meet up with the teeth on the wheel.   According to this watch the date never worked on this watch because the teeth never lined up with the stud. I’m stuck on this one.

No the stud is not bent I checked that. The problem I see is the day wheel teeth is causing a Misalignment of the other teeth that are supposed to catch the stud Causing the stud not to catch the first tooth but the back end of the second tooth as you see in the picture. It needs to catch At the first point to get a full turn.I’m beginning to think the day wheel It’s not the correct wheel. I looked at a repair video on YouTube of the 4006a movement and you can see where the stud catches the first tooth and gives it a full turn. Like I said I don’t see how the date could have ever worked on this watch if this was the Original date wheel. I thought this would be an easy fix

I’m not sure but that date finger on the day/date driving wheel seems to be from a different model, an inner picture I have from these ones it should look a bit different, a bit longer finger and so on. Can it be the finger and or the driving wheel has been replaced?
Have to see if I have one lying around somewere...

It’s possible yes, but I can’t Quite figure out which part has been changed. I got a feeling it’s the day wheel because it’s not lining up letting the stud catch the first tooth on that wheel part. I guess I’ll have to change every part on it till I figure out which one it is but finding the exact part  is a Challenge. These watches are known to have mismatch parts on them but this was in such good pristine condition

I found one 4006A. It should be quite straight forward.
The day/date driving wheel is pushing the date finger forward. If the teeth on the date disc is not worn the finger will push the disk forward.
When the day pin reaches the day driving wheel the wheel should drive the day star on the day disc. The day jumper should make the action snappy and fresh.
If the day isn’t moving one should look if the dial washer is missing. If there is a little too much space between the day disc and the dial the day disc might be lifted up a bit and the day star will not be rotated by the day driving wheel.
