All my life I've heard different ways to pronounce ETA.  is it?

eetah? (eat a apple)

etah? (as is metal)

Say the letters individually:  E. T. A.?

Someone with authority and first hand knowledge please tell me.

Thx

I always assumed "etah", but now you ask, I'm not so sure!

Edit: it seems "etah" and "E.T.A" are commonly used. I've never heard "eetah".

In which language? When it comes acronims in some it normal to pronounce  letter by letter, in others as it was a short word, especially when it is pronounceable.

I would say, how would the swiss Swatch folks in Switzerland  say it, at the end of the day, that would be the correct way in my book, good question tho, I agree.

In my early days, before meeting any other watchmakers, I pronounced it E.T.A. (in my head, because there was never any reason to have said it aloud). I eventually met a WOSTEP trained watchmaker, and he pronounced it "etah". I figured he probably knew a few things I didn't, and followed suit. Still very few chances to say anything aloud though.

ETA stands for Elegance, Technology Accuracy (Swiss manufacturer)

Also estimated time of arrival, which I think is why I prefer etah.
