I bought a stamped Argent T.13. My plan is to clean and service it for my personal use.
I thought I'd post here to get some expert opinions, possibly some tips, or history on the watch as I can't find much on the web.
I determined the case is Silver (Argent T13), and the chain is English silver chain with one link that appears to have the Chester hallmark.

Things went well on tear down and placing it back together. It has defiantly taken apart prior as there are different screws in some slots and
one screw about the size of a piece of pepper where the head is snapped (as you can see in the pic prior to teardown) and the cannon pinion gear
on the front behind the face was loose. So it looked like all was going well.

Until I got to the balance .. It looked a little weird and poof, I snapped the bottom pin off, while putting it back together.
Now I need to see if I can find a new balance for this, otherwise I think the watch will function properly.

The other issues I found was the bow (which has the same marking as the chain). appears to be a screw in it which is broken off inside, the push button to open the watch is worn down, where it wont function (Maybe a spring missing?), and the case spring for the cover is loose and not functioning. it appears that there is a slot for a retained pin or screw? difficult to tell.

1) and most important, I noticed that the balance had a crack in the bottom pin area where it was thin like a half moon, then I accidently broke it off while moving it.
Any suggestions on where to get one or is the watch parts? (pic 07)
2) The Spring for the front is there but appears to be missing some sort of pin. anyone have any picture of what it should look like? (pic 33)
3) the bow looks like is has a scew in it? anyone have a pic of what it suppose to look like? (Pic 10)
and on a side note, crown has a pin to open the case it looks like I can refashion one from brass, which I will be shaping in the next few weeks, once I find the brass piece. (Pic 49 & 20)

Anyways Hope ya'll can give me some input to either save this one or tell me its not worth it and only good for parts.

Any inputs would be great, thank you.
Cheers,
Karp

I think you have a tough time getting a balance complete for this. Did you notice it doesn't look like you usual lever escapement like perhaps there's no lever at all?

I had one of these Baume Geneva, can't seem to find it right now but it is an cylinder escapement.

So that is why you had that weird staff you decribed in your first question (1).
Can't see the picture numbers you refer too (probably in the file name.)

Definitely a cylinder movement.  Here's what I'm wondering:
The staff of a cylinder movement balance, if it is like some of the ones I have worked on, is made in three parts -  1) the upper part of the staff (which holds the wheel and hairspring, and tapers upward to the upper pivot) then 2) the cylinder itself (to which the upper staff-section plugs into) and then 3) the bottom plug which has the lower pivot.
What I cannot ascertain from the photos is whether the lower pivot itself has broken off, or whether your bottom plug came out.  If the plug simply came out, then it can be carefully put back in.  If the pivot has broken off, then it will be very hard to find a replacement plug or whole staff.  But there is still a way; a staff can be drilled for a new pivot (by an expert - this is not an easy repair) and he will need some very exact measurements.
So first, may we request the clearest pictures you can manage of all the balance parts?  If we can diagnose this correctly, we can give the best advice.

    • That’s a nice idea, But i’m committed to providing this site as a gift to the watch repair community as my thank you for my incredible life i’ve had in this business. Ive done well and unless my financial circumstances change then i’m more than happy to foot the bill. If circumstances do change then be assured that I will make an appeal. For now, I’m comfortable with the way things are and I am extremely delighted to remove Google Ads from this site and to stop Patreon, it feels like a major step forward 🙂 Sorry, I missed your reply, I got blinded by another poster in this thread. Yes - I can confirm that I have always seen WRT as a not-for-profit website, and therefore - not a business as such. I’m lucky and have done well in my life due to a decision made in my teens to start a watch repairing apprenticeship which has sustained myself and my family for many years now. Consider this my small way of paying it forward. Ive been committed to keeping the site alive on a technical and financial level for over 10 years now and I have zero plans to change that. Thank you for your kind words by the way. And as for your wish - nobody can control what happens in life, if something happens to me I have things in place with my family but I’m just not comfortable talking about my personal business - I wish a certain person would respect that, but i’ve calmed down now - i’m only human 😄
    • Yes, exactly. I've seen a few different versions, but mine has the blue water symbol, not white.    I think it's Acrylic. The case is plastic so I would the is the lens would be too.
    • Hi there Josh, welcome to the forum.
    • From the same listing, the back side: I would guess that the back pops off rather than the front. You can see a little groove there where the caseback sits over the winding stem, rather than a case tube. Look for an indent or notch around the back. It might be possible to pry this off from almost anywhere on the back if it sits right against the rubber strap. The movement looks like it is from the Ronda RL family (015 or 115 or something? I forget which numbers have a calendar and which don't)
    • I'd expect a similar notch somewhere around the rear to pop that off.
