Hey guys.

This zenith was not working (needed a new eacape wheel).

I put it back together and it ran but it was gaining 2 hours a day. I have replaced the mainspring and it's still the same.

Before I strip the balance down is there any thing else that would make it run so fast?

I have demagnetised it as well. A couple of times now.

When I try to adjust the Hairspring via a screw on the bridge it seems to be not lined up properly. I turn the screw but it seems not to be moving correctly.

Is it possible the regulator ring and stud arm have been replaced wrong? And if so how do I know how it should be set up?

Cheers

As always, pictures of what you are describing would help a great deal. Do you have timegrapher readings? The rate alone doesn't tell us much. How are you measuring it?

A picture is required. Normally a hairspring issue either coils touching or  too long etc etc, or perhaps the wrong escape wheel fitted.

hey

I do not get a reading on the weishi timer it ticks loud for about 10 secs and then stops .it then restarts very fast ticking and slows and then stops. I think it has something to do with the way the hairspring is mounted. It seems to be over to one side. The hairspring itself seems ok. Moved watch arounbd and got a reading from weishi.

First time i have had this problem so any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

cheers

Hairspring is pushed to the side and is likely the cause of the issue. The coil should be concentric and remain so as the regulator arm is moved from one exterme of the terminal curve to the other (slow-fast.)

Micro regulator is not the issue here.

Gary, The arrow from center outwards is what centers the coil, the other arrow towards center is just to sort out what appears to be small a bend there.

Your shock-spring doesn't look right to me. Check how you've put the balance cock assembly back together. Watchguy UK has some high-resolution images which show what it should look like.

Is the lyre spring locked in place ?      Did you bench timed the watch or your tg says watch  beats fast?      How can a high amplitude like this happen while H/S touches or sticks.

The Jewel and cap should not  loosely move inside the housing.
