Hello. I am a watch collector/hobbyist. I aspire to being able to repair my watches but currently have neither the time nor courage to start on any of my watches. My solution is to work vicariously through my watchmaker. I send him my watches and question him about them. Right now it works for both of us.

Perhaps in another life I may be able to achieve my aspiration of being a watchmaker. Until then I can only study and dream.

From another newbie. I thought I knew what I was up against, but have learnt very quickly that I do not.

Having said that, take your time, learn what you can, ask questions and believe in yourself.
