I am familiar with Cas Ker, but when I search for "Ingersoll", all I find is a single result, which has nothing to do with mainsprings.  I will try emailing them with the dimensions.  Thanks!

Ok, I think at this point, I just have to try something before posting anymore about the pocket watch mainspring.  I was thinking about my other mainspring problem, and I think I may have come up with a solution, let me know if this is feasible.

  1. I cut the end off of the mainspring with the stud.
  2. Buy a comparable new mainspring with a regular bridle.
  3. Solder the stud end of the old mainspring to the end of the new mainspring, as well as sandwiched in between the bridle and new mainspring.

Among my skill sets with small intricate objects is making circuits, so I am pretty handy with a soldering iron.

Looks like a sturdy fix. The only problem I can see is tha the bridle might hold the end away from the barrel wall, and prevent the stud from engaging. Maybe thin the bridle down first?

That's what I was thinking as well.  The longer I cut the section from the old mainspring, the less of a problem this will be.
