Hello! There goes my first post on the forum!

My father in law has a Longines watch with L960.2 movement that is no longer working. Battery changing does do nothing, if not a little regular vibration…I tried to find a technical sheet before opening it up to see if there I (with my humble experience) can clean it up and see if it still works, but no success. The only document I found is a parts list, but no technical drawing. Do you happen to have such documents?

If not, have anyone any idea what would be a suitable replacement? Such as ETA E03.001? The owner would like to have it back working, as it was a watch presented for his 25 years with his company…
Thanks a lot!

Before thinking of cleaning it up try giving it a pulse with a line free box or demagnetizer. If still no life, check if there is circuit pulse, and coil continuity - more tools needed. The latter two actions can only tell you what's faulty but not repair it. There are various topic about dead quartz watches, just search "quartz" in title here.

If you think to replace it entirely measure and compare all sizes, including hands and stem height, because any small difference can give trouble that is difficult to correct to make a perfect work.

Thank you very much jdm, demagnetizer worked as a charm! One minute of rapidly turning the hands under alternative current probably removed some of the gummed up oils… One happy owner soon!
However, I realized that in this kind of two hand movement, the minute hand only moves once a minute, not really continuously. A bit of a surprise, and good to know for the future!

I attach two pictures with the watch, it is a nice one!

Have a wonderful evening!
