Seiko Mainspring suppliers, preferably in the UK or Europe

Hi all.

I have a few Seiko 7009A movements that all seem to be in need of a new mainspring.

I have checked with Cousins and they only show a complete barrel and that is listed as obsolete, so anyone know were I might get some from, preferably in the UK or Europe. I did see elsewhere that the ETA 8200 mainspring can be used, anyone know if that is true.

There is no secrete supplier for parts, Seiko or otherwise, everybody does the same Internet searches with the same results. Of course, the older and more popular the watch, the more likely that old stock is exhausted anywhere, Have a look at the following thread:

No European made mainspring (GR or oher) will perfectly replace a Seiko one. They are all different enough to give poor results. Few more topics for you to look at

Hello Paul8o, I just saw your post. Just let you know that a 7s26 mainspring will fit the 7002a and 7002, 7005, 7006, 7009, 7019,   There is plenty supply of those.GR2377X is the number, or complete barrel and mainspring Seiko part number 0201 075, Hope this helps you.

Just be aware that as the GR catalog indicates, that mainspring was not manufactured for Seiko, and even if it can physically be fitted, does not deliver the same performances as an original complete barrel. I speak from experience, confirmed by others in this forum. Beside,  it's cost is not much less that a complete brand new NH35, which not only can be a complete replacement, but also a source of other parts after the barrel complete.

I rebuilt a 7002A, same mainspring :  0.95 * 0.11 * 360 * 10.5

I used GR2377X is 0.95 x 0.11 x 400 x 10.0 

No problem !

What are the dimensions of the Seiko 7 series mainspring and is it possible to buy it as replacement?

6 Series have 1.05 x .115 x 420 x 10.5 Automatic mainspring, but I am curios about 7 series. Thanks.
