zenith 2542

hey guys

Im still struggling with these interchangeable zenith parts. What i need to know will a balance complete f0r a 2522 zenith be the same as a balance for a zenith 2542? As far as i can see it should be the same. But it then says the same balance will fit 2531 zenith. Which has thrown me.

Any one put me straight please. Are the balances for the zenith 2522 and 2542 the same?

They are not the same, do not belong to same family generation, and beat different

2252 beats 18000 per hr. whereas 2542 beat 21600. 

 Zenith 2531 beats 21600 per hr but does not member the same family as 2542.

You need the correct oscilator.

this is a somewhat confusing discussion? The title has Zenith 2542 but the text has a whole variety of other numbers so not sure which one you're really looking for? The first link has the cross-references of what they feel are the same balance completes. You will note that all the frequencies of the same.

The second link just because I like to see what were looking at.

then 2531 is on the first list that does appear to cross reference with the 2542.

then for the third link we have the parts for the 2522 and it's running at a different frequency so no it is not compatible with the other ones.

then because you're curious about parts for the 2542 fourth link is the list of parts.

then back the second link we looking at the parts list I notice they actually have four separate calibers the same as we find on the second link of there are variations so to hopefully avoid confusion I'm giving you a fifth link and that shows all the Zenith calibers C can figure out which one you have because obviously parts for an automatic watch probably aren't going to fit a manual wind watch C do need to be looking at the right watch parts if you want to get the right things hopefully.
