hello iv recieved this clock from a friend , the cloock in a good condition,  but its not working i have tried to put the batteries but its not working , i have tried to resoldering + & - wires ....but it doesnt help ... the mechanism moove perfectly , but i think the magnet and coil are not working

i want to know the name of red and green component but i dont know if they are old resistor types or capacitores .... i have no idea

can anyone help ?

thank you

Hi   the red and green devices, red one is a tantalum bead capacitor green device ? has it three legs if so maybe a transistor.  as you will have worked out the electronics creates a magnetic field in the coil and the magnet on the pendulum creates an inpulse as it passes the coil which gives the pendulum a kick and the whole thing continues. They work on a similar pricipal as the ATO clocks and the weak point in them was the switching transistor. or the coil going open circuit. So check the coil for continuity and the transistor.

well the green one have 4 legs and iv tested the continuity in the coil and the multimeter beep , and whene i put the battery i measure the voltage it gave me 0.34v in coil so i dont know if somes before tried to repair it or not , how the magnet polarity should be ?  N againnst the S or  S-S  / N-N
