I'm a rookie on this website, and I'm taking my first tippitoes. My beloved wife seeing my enthusiasm gives me a watch that I had never heard of before, a Hydepark. Excuse my ignorance.

When I flip over the watch I noticed a back cover that is not the usual, seems to be jagged edge. Could anyone tell me what kind of a tool do I need to remove the back of this watch.

Thank you for your help.

It looks like it's a screw-down type. If you don't have the correct 12-sided tool (and lets face it, who does?), you can try one of those grippy case-opener balls, or if it won't budge, superglue a nut to the back.

I would have never thought of superglue and a nut.

Before you do that, I suggest that you gently grip the caseback across it flat sides within a garage vice, actually even large pliers would do also, and turn the case. Normally these watches open easily, the grippy ball and and of course a bench opener work wonders without getting the original opening tools, which are flimsy affairs anyway.
