hey guys

Working on a font FhF 96 and fitted a new balance and spring. i took the balance apart as it did not line up correctly and only noticed when reassembling i have either lost a piece or it was never there.

I have now crawled round the room with the magnet but found nowt.

There is nothing there to keep the jewel in position. and looking close it does not seem to be the usual anti shock piece ( the brass harp parts that secures the jewel.)

It looks to be another kind of fitting.

Any suggestions.

cheers

Right i think i am missing the cap stone and the antishock spring?????????

Which dont really help as i find it hard understanding the numbers on the incabloc.

cousins have  170.03 and 745.20 which may be correct but i got them numbers from a incabloc page and its all in french.

Are they the rigfht parts? I need the cap stone and the anti shock spring??

Thanks for your patience.

cheers

gary

Hi Gary  It might be handy if you search for the kif catalogue which member Plato kindly scanned and put on the site for us. It is in down loadable sections making the whole catalogue..  It a very handy document for identifying Kif parts.

It looks like you are missing the entire KIF shock block setting. The brass coloured setting in the middle looks like the chaton of the hole jewel.

The shock block normally acts like a rivet, sandwiching the stud carrier/suppprt, the regulator boot carrier, the fine regulator, and the balance cock. Here is the layout in a 2824-2.C41E46D0-B053-4918-8B4E-3F239EC2204F.thumb.jpeg.425edf3b9f9f3b547a10f31fdf933284.jpeg
