ETA 2834-2 Day Won’t Jump when dials on.

Getting a bit frustrated with this rebuild. The day/date complication works just fine when the dials off. But as soon as the dial goes on and you rotate the hands until the day and date would jump at midnight, it just moves slightly and sort of half sets. It’s obviously catching, it does look like it’s sitting slightly high, do I need a new day wheel? Or is there another solution?

Don’t worry think I’ve solved it by just leaving a big enough gap between the dial and the body of the movement.

That could give you a problem with the hands...

It looks funny to me that the day indicator isn't level with the date indicator.

I've never worked on an ETA 2834-2, but I have experience with an ETA 2836-2. You'll find my service walkthrough of it here if it's of any help.

Thanks very much, I will take a look at it now. Yeah feels more like a work around than the correct way of doing it.
