I'm new to the forum/site, and rather "new" to watch and clock repair/maintenance in general.  Although I don't own a whole lot of timepieces myself, I have always had a fascination with them, especially antiques (I guess it all started with my grandparents' old grandfather clock).  I am also an avid "do-it-yourselfer" and would always rather fix something myself if I can rather than take it to "the shop."  Although I recognize there are times when I just do not have enough level of expertise to do certain things, and it would be better to let an expert handle it, I really enjoy expanding my knowledge and abilities whenever possible.

Welcome to the forum @DexterL

I can remember sitting in front of my grandparent's Hettich table clock and watching the balance spin back & forth. I am hoping to restore this clock after it's many years of not working.
