Hello

A friend of mine asked me to repair his Cartier must with a 687 movement.

The crown is broken and stem is missing so I got a new  stem and a used crown that fit well.

I first replaced the battery and tested the movement without  stem andit worked well.

The keyless works had toa problem so I had to remove the plate and the circuit board to reset it.

Now the stem works perfectly, I can set the time, but the movement doesn't start again, with the same battery.

I know that some Seiko quartz movements have to be "resseted" after replacing the battery ... is there something similar I have to do with the 687 movement ?

Keyless work also works as switch for the battery saving function, so the problem may be there.

No, there is not. The reset is normally on chronograph mov.t or others having internal logic.

Thanks for the help ... and BTW the movement is a 690 (no date) not a 687

I'm pretty certain the keyless works is correctly reassembled.

Here's a pic (not mine) showing exactly how I assembled the parts

Maybe I should try to place the "golden" part of the keyless works like shown on that other pic ?

The golden pads trough the plate are test points, you should have plus, minus and pulse there. Maybe the brass color lever doesn't conduct positive to the circuit.

I'll check the brass color lever this evening and do some tests with an ohmmeter.
