Hi,

I have stripped down and am part way through rebuilding an ebay 'spares or repair' watch with a F4007N automatic movement. I am not sure if a part is missing as there is a intermediate wheel on a disk with 2 posts that can pivot enough to disengage the rotor weight from the winding wheels (easier to see in the picture) . I have rewatched the video of when i took it apart and there was nothing on the second post and it cannot engage with the spring loaded arm next to it.

should it just 'float' in and out of being engaged to the automatic works? also any help on how to get the rotor weight back on with the small locking pin in the center arbour would save me writing another post tomorrow!!

thanks in advance

There should be another little identical pinion on the plate with two posts. When the rotor engages turning counter clockwise the first pinion will engage the large wheel, rotor turning clockwise will pivot the first pinion away, bringing the second pinion into engagement with the large wheel. It's a clever and simple design (and the setup to keep the center seconds hand steady on these is very clever too).
