Hello everyone and happy new year!

While doing some New Year skiing in Quebec, I have picked up this Regina watch in one of the local antiques shops.

Looking at the dial I suspect some parochial motive, as someone painted a bleeding heart (or whatever else this might be) over the Regina trademark, and potentially local vendor on the second line.

Does anyone have any ideas about what this depiction might represent? Is is from a specific parish? Or awarded to a priest of a specific rank / denomination?

How often did they paint over dials back in the day?

Should I remove this paint to revert back to the original dial?

It looks like its a personal thing that some one has painted on. The art work is somewaht crude and does nothing to enhance the watch. That said someone had a deep enough conviction to do it so maybe a little research in the ares whench you got the watch may shed some light.
