Its been blowing hard all day here in South London.

Just heard a loud noise, went to have a look expecting to find a tile had come off the roof.

Nope, a 3 metre piece of gutter ripped off and flung 10ft into the front garden. [emoji35]

Got to fix it quick before it rains again.

I don't envy you having to fix that Roberto. It's a miserable day up here in Dundee, but at least we don't have the strong winds.

Bit worried about going up a 20ft ladder. Its set to chuck it down tomorrow. Sodding typical.

Make sure there's two of you if you get up that ladder in strong winds - one to steady it. I've known experienced builders take a tumble, which is why so many more use scaffolding services these days. H&S and all that...

 

Strong winds down here in Sussex as well, turning from sunshine to showers and back again in a matter of minutes.

Careful ro63rto, there are still plenty of watches to fix out there waiting for you! Will gives good advise, at least be 2 people! Hope it all gets sorted soon and without much trouble.

Certainly wont attempt it without someone to hold ladder or even until the wind dies down. Got L5-S1 Stenosis so don't want to be fighting for balance while reinstalling gutters.

Last December I had a phone call at 1.00am from my pal to say that he was stuck on his roof in driving rain. He had gone up to clear leaves from the gutter because water was pouring in his front window and was on a flat part of the roof when his ladder was blown down. Luckily he had his phone with him.

Apparently its going to be windier tomorrow. Don't worry about it, even if it rains it'll do no harm in the short term.

The wind, rumbling in the chimney, sounds like thunder and there's a whistling from the fence outside my window. Not a time to be up ladders or on roofs. It's also twenty to midnight so you'd be nuts to be doing either!

The guttering can wait! Plenty of time when the fuss has died down.
