Timex expedition T47902 alarm problem

Hello everyone ,I'm wondering if anyone might have advice for me . I have a old Timex expedition watch with the turn and pull alarm system, basically works by the hands making contact with tiny pieces of wire and that then triggers the alarm however it's only intermittently working and I have no idea why. All contacts look clean from what I can see . Any help would be great
