As if I needed a new hobby to clean out my wallet, I somehow got an interest in the process of servicing mechanical watches. I’m very green though. And then I have the obligatory stash of Seiko’s from Ramon; a process that seems to be an almost rite of passage lately. While waiting for tools to arrive, I’ve also gathered up a nice stash vintage throwaway Swiss watches for cheap that I’ll be practicing on.

Only success so far is rebuilding an ST3620 following Mark’s course. It did go easier than I thought; I do surface mount electronic repair for a living, so I’m comfortable working with small parts under high powered magnification. After that first one I’m hooked!

I’ve been lurking here for a while and have learnt a lot from the regulars here!
