This jaunty roller table is on an ETA 953 pocket watch that runs well other than 4.3ms of beat error (fixed stud).

Is this worth trying to sort out? I have a bergeon style roller remover and a basic (little giant) staking set with the notched stakes for roller tables. I don't have any shellac flakes but i have liquid shellac so i guess i can have some flakes in a day or two? I have some sheet copper and a spirit lamp.

Is it less likely that the beat error is related to this than to where the hairspring is pinned to the stud? There's a few mm of hairspring available for adjustment.

Well it all depends on your attitude and skill level and the old adage " If its not broke dont fix it"   If as you say its running well enough as is it may well be a case of leave it alone ,  or if it annoys you take it off and try to fix it. Being a pocket watch its large enough to have a go at and personaly if very carefull can be done. You have the tools for the job and done as said carefully the impulse pin should survive(removal of the pin depends on how you feel).  Once off warm the shellac and remove the pin straighten the table and re fit the pin sounds easy,    right     good luck,
