Hello,

My issue started a couple of days ago when I tried to change the time/calendar date after replacing the battery.

After changing to the correct time, I moved on to the change the calendar date.  Today is February 8th, and I think it was showing the 15th.  So I moved the crown to the second position and rotated counter-clockwise.  Then I felt a soft click and the crown loss it's nature tension - the crown now spins freely and the dates are stuck between 28th and 29th (see photo).

The Watch still works, and I'm still able to change the time when I move the crown into position 3. It's just position 2, it just feels that the stem isn't able to grab on to the gear that changes the date.  There's really subtle click when trying to change the date but nothing is moving.

Any one have any experience with this?  Is it serviceable myself?  Front.thumb.jpg.4dfed7257ddefe86f2dd637140c68b98.jpg

The watch has quite a bit of sentimental value, so it would be fantastic if it can be fixed.

At what time you changed the date? Even if  now all watches have protection against that, when it's done around midnight, more stress is placed on the mechanism, and a gear may break. That being said, it can also happens when setting at any time, because after many years the plastic becomes brittle.

Certainly it can't be repaired by yourself at least with you present knowledge, dexterity, and tooling. You can search for a local repairer or have a look to our featured topic for more suggestions, but be aware that most repairers don't work on quartz watches except perhaps for a full mov.t replacement, and the the cost may easily exceed the material value of the watch.
