Hi,

I have picked up a spares or repair watch online, after stripping and cleaning a noticed that one of the wheels has a damages tooth. I just wanted to know if it possible to repair, and if so how? I have seen tooth repair videos on clock wheels but this is only 7mm.

thanks

Luch is an inexpensive watch made in belarus, your best bet is a replacement or a donor movement.

If your interested in practicing ,  larger wheels, like pocket wathces is a prefered start.

Thanks, I only got it to practice on. I will rebuild the rest and keep an eye out of a donor movement. Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Joe is right in the fact that a donor is the way out for you but while you wait just try teasing the tooth back and tidying it up. If it breaks off no loss but it will give you a little training in dexterity and the use of tools, make or use a fine blade to persuade it up right and do it slowly, It may be of benifit to anneal the point in question  to soften up the brass before applying pressure to the tooth.  Have ago nothing to loose.
