DIY Watch Kits UK

I have a infection yup I want to make a watch now I've see some wonderful builds BUT 

where do I start and where do I buy ?

I Have been looking at some Kits on the internet and most kits start at around 200 pounds but then I thought of buying a watch that is working and take it apart and rebuild it and maybe change some parts on it eg dial hands, strap.

I think I do want a watch that works at first before I dive into repairs
