Hello all, hope you are all OK. I have just opened the mainspring barrel on a Waltham P.S Bartlett, model-1892, size-18's, jewels-17, movement serial number-15099195....

I have unwound the spring and found that the last 8mm approximately of the outer end has been folded over!? There are also NO holes in that same end! Surly that is not correct? I would say its broken off and someone has folded it like that for some reason?(picture attached)But with my young experience I can't be totally sure and would like confirmation. Could someone please kindly clear this query up for me.

Many thanks again,

   David....

Here are a couple photos of an NOS Waltham model 92 mainspring. These are hole end. Does your barrel have a hook on the outer wall?

I am pretty sure it's meant to be like that now? But not 100% if honest?

Barrel picture attached...

Thanks for swift reply, appreciated...

OK, thank you. I will order one. There are hundreds for this model, but not too cheap though! It did definitely work like that so i wasn't sure if that was another way they done it. I now need your #2222.

 Many thanks, David...
