Timex question

I found this the red and I have the same march with a black face. Mine two lines up and works too but I cannot figure out how to change the date and time for the life of me. It does not change my simple be pulling the stem out to any position that I found. Any tips?

Many Timex watches do not have a date quick set feature. The date is set by winding the time past midnight till the date jumps to the next day, then wind it backwards to 7-8 o'clock position and repeat till you reach the correct date. 

Do I understand that you can't set the time at all? If that is the case, you have a mechanical fault inside your watch.

Pictures will help us diagnose the problem better.
