Hi David the DGMS is a German patent the trademark Schlenker-Kienzle registered 06-10-1889 Re-registered 1889.

Yep that is it just found it in an old e book Schlenker & Kienzle

The figure may be the god Hermes (Mercury) and the winged hat is the petasos (or sun hat - origin Thessalian).  Worn by travelers and of course Mercury travels near the sun, and rapidly!  That's why the Flash is pictured with a hat with wings.

Going by the photo it has count wheel strike so I'd like to see the whole movement.
