Jacot Pivot lathe - different to the regular Jacot lathe and not sure how it works

I have a Jacot Pivot lathe that is different from the more usual type - no third hole and as a result I have no idea how it is set up and functions. It otherwise seems to be a complete set - see attached photos. I have seen photos of a few similar ones and suspect they may have been the early type of Jacot Pivot Lathe. I would appreciate any opinions in this regard. Thank

The purpose of this particular area is for you to give everyone a little introduction about what brings you here and maybe your level of interest in watches and/or clocks. The lathe pictures you've posted would get a much better reception in the area dedicated to tools. I'm sure if you added a bit of an intro here and then reposted (or asked one of the moderators to move your post above into the tools section) you'd get some great answers/feedback.

I'm afraid that my familiarity with metal working tools is minimal, although maybe I need to become more acquainted with some basic tools? Of course, then I'd run into the: Where would I put them? problem...

My wife and I had a holiday through Canada and Alaska that started in Victoria. Pretty place.

Was just never sure about the busker that gets dressed up in a Darth Vader suit and plays violin.
