One of these on ebay.  I feel like I need it just because I dont have one.  Help me!!  No psychiatrist on this forum?

Anyway, are there any particular challenges to getting one of these up and running?  Seems straightforward at a distance.

What type of movement has it got. Is it old or one of these modern types.

Modern. For you you shouldn't have any problems. The striking order can be a bit odd depending on your movement.

Hi LWS   you should have no problem with this. I have done some myself and they are quite straight forward the only complication being the eight bells strike and syncing them . The one I did had an Elliot movement and was  very good quality. One was off a decomissioned fishing boat in a chrome case that was black. It was situated by the steps and the fisherman always put their boot on it. But cleaned up no problem.  I see Old Hippy has supplies the watch / bells sheet for you.            You dont need psychiatric help,  just control I have to bite the bullet sometimes and walk away, like giving up smoking leave the pack on the shelf and look at it every day but dont touch
